Underpinned by strong clinical governance and support through our Quality and Medication Safety Unit, we are committed to delivering excellence in clinical pharmacy services across all of Epic’s partner hospitals. Our pharmacy audit processes allow standardised assessments to be conducted across all hospital pharmacies, facilitating benchmarking and reporting of agreed financial and clinical key performance indicators.

Clinical ward pharmacy services are a strong aspect of the Epic service model and are conducted to facilitate the best patient outcomes. Clinical ward rounds facilitate the most effective, efficient and economical use of drug therapy, with the aim of:

  • Optimising patient care in-line with medication history and patient-specific considerations
  • Compliance with all aspects of the NSQHS Standards, particularly Standards 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship and 4 Medication Safety
  • Achieving strong therapeutic outcomes
  • Ensuring the efficacy of the drug order and following up on recommendations with medical and nursing practitioners
  • Medicine recalls assistance to hospitals
  • Ensuring patients and staff have adequate knowledge regarding the therapy
